No one knows, Captain, no one knows. Ugh, I swear that there is this ruthless cycle of cold, then rain, then blistering heat. Definitely not good for one's immune system. Luckily, the greater powers that be have given us lowly mortals NyQuil. It is truly the ambrosia of the Gods.
Strangely enough, while the NyQuil does ease my symptoms, it has weird side effects.
I don't usually end up on the floor, but I do get really strange dreams. For instance, last night I dreamt I was playing The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker and played poker with Ganondorf. It was really strange. He cheats, by the way. I lost the Triforce to him. It was a nightmare!
So, in an attempt to avoid more cold/flu medicine, I looked for things to aid my symptoms. Sadly, my mother told me she wouldn't be babying me and to grow up, haha.
- Herbal Tea with Honey- Soothes a soar and coughing throat. Very relaxing, especially with chamomile.
- Eat onions- Believe it or not, yes. They're high in the antioxidant Quercetin, which seems to be something of an anti-viral. Apparently that old Italian chef I knew in Italy was up to something when she made a sick classmate of mine eat raw onions soaked in honey. Let's just say she got better quick and I have already had onion soup 3 times this week.
- Vitamin C- While it wont cure a cold, it might shorten its lifespan in your body.
- Drinking and Sleeping- Mom is always right, what can I say.
- Chicken Soup- Lots of vitamins and the heat helps relieve sinus pressure. Give Mom a call, I'm sure she'll bring you some!
Anyways, that's about it for me today. Sorry for being odd(er) today. Off to have some soup and go to freaky dreamland. Let me know in the comments what you do when you're sick and maybe I'll give it a try. Also, subscribe and share if you likey~
*Pinterest makes me happy, I love getting images from there, but NyQuil makes me fall asleep while pinning*
I'm sick too. Apparently it's going around... dammit Florida... hate this state... >.<
ReplyDeleteTry the onion thing. It kind of helped, I haven't developed a bad cough or really bad congestion (yet). Feel better : )
